Where to get your application file
A check reads the file Health Canada’s web Product Licence Application form saves. Here is how to produce it.
Open the web PLA form
Health Canada’s Product Licence Application form runs in the browser. Start a new application, or choose "Load application form from file" and then "Load data" to reopen one you saved earlier.
Open the form on Health Canada’s siteFill it in as you normally would
The form draws its ingredients from the Natural Health Products Ingredients Database and validates compendial applications as you type. Nothing about your usual process changes.
Use the form’s own Save file button
It sits at the top right of the form and saves an HTML file to your computer. That file is what you upload here, and it is the same file the NNHPD expects in your submission package.
Two mistakes to avoid
Do not save with your browser. Health Canada warns that the browser’s own save keeps the web page and not the form, so the result carries none of your answers.
Do not send a scanned or printed copy. The NNHPD accepts the web PLA form in HTML only, and a scanned or PDF version means your submission is refused rather than corrected.
What we do with it
The file is read in memory, checked against the monographs it attests to, and dropped. It is never written to disk. What is kept is the report, so you can reopen a check and download it later.
