About NHPMentor

The problem

A natural health product needs a product licence before it can be sold in Canada, and the application for one attests to Health Canada's monographs: the permitted claims, the doses, the risk statements, the people a product must not be recommended to. The monographs are the authoritative answer to what an application may say — and they are written for regulators, spread across hundreds of pages, and revised without notice.

So applications are screened against rules their authors could not easily read, and refused for things a careful reading would have caught.

What we built

NHPMentor puts Health Canada's monographs behind a question box. Ask what one requires, in your own words; the passages that answer you are found and written up in plain language.

Every answer lists the monograph sections it drew on. That is the part that matters: you can check any sentence against the source document rather than trusting the summary.

The same monographs decide whether an application is accepted, so NHPMentor also reads them the other way round: upload the file the Health Canada web form exports and it compares what you have written with what the monographs you attested to actually say.

What we won't do

We don't answer beyond the monographs. If they don't cover something, the answer says so rather than filling the gap.

And NHPMentor is not a clinician. It reports what the regulator published; it cannot weigh that against your health, your prescriptions or your history. That conversation belongs with a professional.
